What expenses and losses can I claim for?

You may be entitled to recover lost wages if you have an accepted workers’ compensation claim and you are unfit for work for a period of time. In addition, you will also be entitled to receive payment for your reasonable medical expenses, treatment and rehabilitation expenses, pharmaceutical costs, as well as your reasonable travel expenses.

• The loss of past and future earnings and the associated benefits
• Costs associated with past and future hospitalisations, rehabilitation and medical treatments (including surgical services);
• Expenses that are not covered by insurance for items such as pharmaceuticals and travel
• Care and assistance that is paid, such as yard work and nursing; and
• Modifications to your home and vehicle.
